Studio Service Project:
"Crafting for a Good Cause"

The Studio sponsors two ongoing service projects year round. One is the Hospice Shawl and Blanket Project. This items are made for patients who are receiving palliative care and their families through Kansas City Hospice (MO) or Heartland Hospice (KS). You can pick up donated yarn and share patterns and fellowship at monthly knit-alongs held from 1-2:30 pm the first Sunday of every month. If you would like to get started now, click here for some pattern ideas in knit and crochet. Please make all items in machine washable and dryable yarns.

The other service project benefits Operation Breakthrough which serves working poor families in the urban core of Kansas City. Their services include infant and toddler day care, after school care, teen programs and adult courses on parenting, budgeting and other topics. Many of these families are supported by a singe parent or grandparent. Some are homeless. Every quarter, the Studio targets different needs of Operation Breakthrough clients which is announced in the newsletter and the e-newsletter. Please make all items in machine washable and dryable yarns. Bring donated items to the Studio; there is a marked basket for them.
